June 14, 1920

June 14, 1920 There is no more happy day, than the day when a kindness woman as Linda enters your life. June 14, 1904, that was the day I marry Linda. Linda will always be my faithful companion. She loves me unconditionally and show an amazing care and tenderness; she is the only one who is able to understand and support me in difficult times. She demans their sons to show love and care to me “Biff, dear, if you do not have any feeling for him, then you can not have any feeling for me.” Linda has always believed in me and hoped the bright future that we’ll have one day. That’s why I need to achieve it, that is my main goal, for her, for me, for all.

July 24, 1930 I asked Ben for advice; things are going differently than planned.  After the conversation, Ben offered me a better job, and I accepted. Still, Linda made me remember why I decided to become a salesman, as well as the successful Dave Singleman. The hesitation got the better of me, and I ended up turning down this offer , even though my brother was determined. Ben may be having better luck than me, but this job is just as fortunate as Ben's. I'm convinced that in the future our lives will take another course, the course of success.

October 21, 1936 Today, the boys mentioned the "Florida idea". Moving to the country, buying a house in a field, building two guest houses for the boys and their wives, planting my own vegetables, and living comfortably. The simple idea of working in Florida fascinates me! I wanted to meet with my boss with the intention of asking him for a job, I need to improve the economic situation of this family before that happens. Despite having told him that it didn't matter if the salary was low, his answer was the same: "there are no vacancies available at the moment, Willy." Those glory days, when I worked with Howard's father, that year when I earned a lot of money from sales... It seemed as if I didn't deserve it, as if my dream was unattainable.  Howard opened his mouth, yet the words that awaited me did not express good news. My position in the company was no longer needed.

Today I met with the guys at the restaurant to tell them the bad news. However, I noticed an uneasy atmosphere between them. I asked Biff if something had happened and in desperation, he began to tell me the truth that I was not aware of. he never was a salesman for Bill Oliver, he was actually just a shipping clerk. All is lost, both my job and Biff's chance of success.  There were no good news to tell Linda, even a little one. She has waited all this time for a miracle in our life, she has suffered. I never imagined I would say this...but Singleman's success and his limitless potential, have disturbed my mind with unrealistic ideas. I was led to believe that "selling was the best career a man could wish for". But in the end, I ended up unsuccessful. I ignored the reality. I didn’t realize at time that I’m a ordinary man who has no special features; a man who cannot be as him. The ambition to obtain the American dream has consumed our lives, destroyed our chances of ...
